Condolences: Part I

Since the September 11 terrorist attacks on American soil, thousands of e-mails have arrived at the Department of State. Most letters express condolences, some express outrage and anger, and many offer personal assistance. The following is a compilation of some of the passages from our friends around the world:

The steel of a just people's resolve
I am an ordinary people from Beijing, China. I am behalf on my family to express our deeply grief to all victims, express our deeply esteem to all American! We experienced unforgettable time! My family was all shocked by that terrible attacks when we watched the news on TV. The disaster is not only for American, but also for all mankind. We cannot believe the huge tragedy does can happen in 21st Century. We felt so shamed for these ugly actions. Most people on earth are all eager for peace and love. We cannot keep back our tears flowing out from our eyes. We wept for so many innocent lives going away. We especially present a bunch of flowers from our heart to all American! Please receive the beautiful bless from an remote, ordinary family: good lucky to all American and all people who love life all over the world!

When I read the speech of President Bush on e-mail, I copied two sentences from my computer. I carried it to home and gave my 9-year-old daughter. I translated it to my daughter. I didn't know whether she can understand what it means, because she only is a kid. But she wrote down the translation in Chinese! I was touched deeply. I do hope our kid can be away disasters, be away blood and be away the war! So, I re-write the two sentences:

Terrorism attacks can shake the foundation of any big buildings...... they can not shake the foundation of any just nation.

These acts shattered steel, but they cannot shatter the steel of a just people's resolve.

Take care.

I heard the request for information or ideas and had a question about the explosion.  As I watched the explosion news on TV, the pattern that the explosion took reminded me of the explosion at Oaklahoma City.  This just made me wonder if any of the perpetrators could be traced by looking for similar chemicals and other things that led the investigators to finding Timothy McVeigh.

I noticed, in both explosions, that the buildings "disintegrated" from the top down into a fine powder, rather than the chemical (or other) souce just causing a "large hole" at the POINT OF ENTRY.   I wondered if, over time, if explosive agents could have been taken into the building in steps, until everything was installed and set up for detonation when COMBINED  WITH  JET  FUEL.

Just an associative idea.  Thank you for your time!!

P.S.  Both during the Gulf War and whenever I listen to you now------I  LOVE  YOUR   ATTITUDE!!!  Don't ever lose it!!!!

PLEASE JOIN US -- a nation in mourning for the thousands of lives lost, for the familiies, for us all.  Make and wear a black arm band on your left arm.  A 2" wide strip cut from a
black sock makes a good mouring band.  A pair of socks will give 6 bands to wear
and share with others.  Let us all wear them and mourn together and take them off
only when justice is done.  Help fight against the terrorists war by standing
together.  Would that all America would wear black arm bands to tell the world we
will not forget.

My heart is truly burdened for the fate of our country, and I am deeply concerned over the compromise of our national security and our lack of ability to intercept such a horrendous attack on American Soil!!!

The loss of life, so staggering----and while many of us may not have suffered
the loss of a loved one, there is no doubt in my mind that each and every
American has suffered a great loss!

It is my prayer, that God will give our leaders the wisdom and  the insight
needed to swiftly deal with these terrorist in a manner fitting to the crime.  I pray that our leaders will begin to build our Military might and Intelligence in new ways -- ways that will detour future attacks by terrorists and rebuild confidence in the hearts of all the American people---
Confidence that will allow us to say from our hearts that we remain "Proud to
'BE 'Americans!"

As Americans, we stand united in supporting our country and our world leaders, and I have no doubt that in it all, we will come through this a much stronger country, nation, and people!!!
