Topic: Attracting Tourists from Northeast China

Host: Consul General Sean Stein

Date, time, time zone for call: Thursday, June 27, 2013; 7:00 p.m. EDT (June 28 at 7 a.m. China time)

Deadline for RSVPs: Tuesday, June 25, 2013

Brief description of call: China’s strong economy and growing middle class mean more Chinese citizens are traveling abroad. Last year, China’s tourism expenditures exceeded $100 billion. With more than 110 million people and 10 percent annual GDP growth, Northeastern China is an important part of China’s tourism market. How can your region and your economy attract more travelers from this key region? Take advantage of this Direct Line call with U.S. Consulate General Shenyang’s experts, including Consul General Sean Stein, Foreign Commercial Officer Steve Green, and Consular Chief Tyler Allen. Because new tourists often rely on advice from local tour agents, we have also invited a representative of a local tour agency to answer your questions.
