Brief description of call: It’s More Fun in the Philippines! 2013 has seen a dramatic increase in tourism in the Philippines. The country received its 3 millionth visitor for the year in August, outpacing 2012 arrivals by over 11 percent. Almost 500,000 of those arrivals were from the United States, making the U.S. the second largest Philippine visitor market. Asian tourists are flocking to the Philippines, allured by the country’s hospitality and Western amenities. Opportunities for U.S. companies in the Philippine tourism industry have never been greater as the Philippines continues towards its goal of hosting 10 million visitors yearly by 2016. Please join Charge d’Affaires Brian L. Goldbeck and his invited guests, Department of Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez, and Philippine Airlines Country Manager Bud Britanico to get the insider’s view of this dynamic growth industry.
