Brief description of call: The Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates will invest billions in infrastructure projects to enable its ambitious growth plans, which include bids for World Exposition 2020 and the 2024 Olympics. Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has already announced $2.3 billion in projects, and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has the second phase of its Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park up for bid this summer, in addition to billions more forecasted in power generation, power grid, and water projects. Dubai leadership wants more American companies bidding on and winning these projects, and Ex-Im financing may be available. U.S. Consulate General Dubai’s Consul General Robert Waller and executives from these two government authorities will be on hand to discuss these great opportunities as well as the general investment and economic climate in Dubai.
