Brief description of call: The call will focus on opportunities in the agriculture sector, including New Alliance and other public-private partnerships. Mozambique’s agricultural potential is buoyed by fertile land, access to the Indian Ocean and growing Asian markets, and an investor-friendly government. Following the G-8’s launch of the New Alliance in Food Security, American businesses now have the opportunity to join 19 private-sector firms whose letters of intent commit more than $100 million of investments to transform the country’s agricultural sector.
