Brief Description of Call: This event will give audience members a clear view of the Philippine Government’s ongoing efforts to rehabilitate its infrastructure devastated by Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) in November 2013. The power sector in particular – from power plants to transmission infrastructure to distribution networks – suffered catastrophic damage in many areas of the eastern provinces of Samar and Leyte, centered on the regional capital of Tacloban. Philippine Government experts will discuss ongoing work, rehabilitation plans, and their need for investment, technologies, and technical support. Brief presentations will be followed by Q&A from the audience.
