Brief description of call: The DVC will focus on intellectual property rights. The Ambassador will brief company participants in the U.S. on recent developments affecting the protection of intellectual property in Spain, including the Special 301 decision. Culture Ministry Director General Teresa Lizaranzu will co-host the first call, giving an explanation of the IPR Commission, the work that her ministry is doing to combat digital piracy, and the government's future plans to reform the IP law. Company participants will be asked to discuss ways in which legal offer of movies and music could be increased in Spain and how the governments of Spain and the United States could facilitate that increase.
