Topic: Renewable Energy Opportunities in Chile
Host: U.S. Ambassador to Chile, Alejandro Wolff
Date, time, time zone for call: Tuesday, January 22, 2013; 1:00–2:00 p.m. EST
Brief description of call: The U.S. Embassy in Santiago, Chile would like to invite you to participate in a webchat on Chile’s market for renewable energy technology and services. During the webchat, you will have the opportunity to interact with the U.S. Ambassador to Chile, Alejandro Wolff, and with Mr. Hugh Rudnick, an expert on the Chilean energy market. Chile currently has almost 17,700 MW of installed capacity but needs to increase its electricity generating capacity by roughly 8,000 MW by 2020. Chilean legislation sets a target of 5% electricity generation from non-conventional renewable energy by 2014, increasing to 10% by 2024.
Please join Ambassador Wolff to discuss these opportunities and other opportunities to participate in key business promotion activities scheduled in Chile during April 2013.
