On November 3, 2011, at a ceremony at the Presidential Palace in San Salvador, El Salvador, Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs Jose W. Fernandez and Salvadoran Presidential Technical Secretary, Alexander Segovia, signed a Joint Statement of Principles that will formally implement the Partnership for Growth initiative. Salvadoran President Mauricio Funes, Foreign Affairs Minister Hugo Martinez and U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador Mari Carmen Aponte served as witnesses of the ceremony.
