Diplomatic Note to Ethiopia on Ratification of Air Transport Agreement of May 17, 2005

The Department of State refers the Embassy of Ethiopia to the Air Transport Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, which was signed at Washington on May 17, 2005. Reference is made also to Article 17 of the Agreement, which states that the Agreement shall enter into force on the date on which both parties have informed each other through an exchange of diplomatic notes that their necessary internal procedures for entry into force of the Agreement have been completed.

The Department of State is pleased to inform the Embassy of Ethiopia that the Government of the United States of America has completed its necessary internal procedures for entry into force of the Agreement. Accordingly, the Government of the United States of America considers that the Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the Embassy's note in reply stating that the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has completed its necessary internal procedures for entry into forceof the Agreement.
