G. Kathleen Hill's term ended on August 27, 2021.

Ambassador G. Kathleen Hill was the Executive Director for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. She was the chief advisor to the Assistant Secretary on management issues, supporting 14 domestic offices and overseeing a $450 million budget allotment. She came to EAP having most recently served as the Political Advisor (POLAD) to the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force at the Pentagon, providing foreign policy expertise and advice to the Chief and the Secretary of the Air Force. A Career Member of the U.S. Foreign Service, Class of Minister Counselor, Amb. Hill served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Malta where she provided leadership and policy guidance to all elements of the U.S. mission in pursuit of U.S. foreign policy goals. Ambassador Hill was the Executive Director, Office of the Executive Secretariat, directly supporting the Secretary of State and senior principals from 2012 to 2015. Prior to this she was a Deputy Executive Director in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and Supervisory PMO in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. Amb. Hill previously held multiple management and reporting positions across the Department of State in Washington and at U.S. Embassies and Consulates in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Italy and Canada. She holds language proficiency in Italian, Serbian and Russian.
