| U.S.-Brazil Bilateral Efforts to Address Climate ChangeAt the conclusion of the Brazil-U.S. Workshop on Cooperation in Climate Science and Technology, held in São José dos Campos, Brazil, May 18-20, 2004, Brazil and the United States announced their intention to expand and intensify existing bilateral efforts to address climate change in scientific and technological fields of mutual interest to produce balanced beneficial results. In the workshop, experts and officials from both countries discussed ways to further improve scientific and technological cooperation in such areas as: climate science and modeling; energy and technology; land use, land use change, forestry, and agriculture; emissions inventories and modeling; impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change.
