| U.S.-Japan High-Level Consultation on Climate ChangeOn June 30, 2001 President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi of Japan agreed to undertake “high-level U.S.-Japan government-to-government consultations to explore common ground and areas for common action on climate change.” Following an April 27, 2007 meeting between President Bush and Prime Minister Abe, the United States and Japan reaffirmed the value of our bilateral High-Level Consultations on Climate Change and committed to enhance, strengthen, and streamline that dialogue.
