| Central America: Improving Regional and National Capacity in National Greenhouse Gas InventoriesThe governments of the United States and the seven Central American countries (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama) are working on a comprehensive four-year greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory improvement program to build a foundation for raising the quality of greenhouse gas inventories in the CONCAUSA region, and to assist in the application of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Good Practice Guidance. Each country has prepared a draft national system report and is incorporting more rigorous calculation methods into the preparation of their next National Communications to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
