U.S.-Canada Sign Pacific Hake/Whiting Agreement

After years of negotiations, the U.S. and Canada sign an agreement in Seattle, Washington on November 21, 2003, that resolves a long-standing dispute between U.S. and Canadian fishermen over sharing the valuable marine resource of Pacific Hake or Whiting. John F. Turner, Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs (r), signed the agreement on behalf of the United States. Mr. Patrick S.
