Anderson, Jr., Ollie P.BIOGRAPHY Ollie P. Anderson, Jr. Mr. Anderson is a Foreign Affairs Consultant in the Bureau of African Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. He is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with over 38 years of Federal Government service, including twenty years in the United States Army and a year and a half as a Foreign Affairs Consultant to a Member of Congress. Mr. Anderson’s service with the Department of State began in the Bureau of African Affairs in 1981 where he served as Administrative Officer in Liberia and Uganda, as Labor and Political Officer in Nigeria, as Labor Adviser to the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, and as Deputy Director of the Office of West African Affairs. He then served as Charge d’Affaires of the American Embassy in Grenada, where he received a commendation from the Prime Minister for his contributions to U.S.-Grenada relations. Mr. Anderson also served as Labor Adviser in the Bureau of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs where he represented the Department of State at several international conferences, including the Organization of American States (OAS) Conference on Labor and Industrial Relations convened in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1996. Mr. Anderson retired from the Foreign Service in 1997. |
