Steingass, HenryBIOGRAPHY Henry Steingass Mr. Steingass is the Director for African and Asia Programs for the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. Since joining USTDA, Mr. Steingass has been instrumental in expanding USTDA investments throughout the two sub-regional portfolios (sub-Saharan Africa, and Middle East-North Africa), concentrating on building up the agency’s emphases on the aviation/transportation sector, and trade policy project activities related to new free trade agreements and the Africa Growth & Opportunity Act. He has over 20 years of international emerging markets experience and accomplishments in the energy and infrastructure sectors. His career has included senior positions in management consulting for private sector clients and governments in Africa, Asia and Latin America, as well as prior service Program Officer the international renewable energy programs of the Tennessee Valley Authority and Energy Advisor to the USAID Asia Bureau. Prior to USTDA, at K&M Engineering and Consulting of Washington DC, Mr. Steingass led project finance advisory services for development of greenfield independent power projects (IPPs) in Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos and Colombia, as well as public utility sector restructuring and privatizations. Mr. Steingass holds a B.A. from Cornell University and a Master’s Degree of Public Administration from Harvard University. |
