Moses Kanene
Marketing Specialist
African Wildlife Foundation

Moses Kanene is one of African Wildlife Foundation’s lead marketing and enterprise specialists. Mr. Kanene has 5 years experience facilitating and managing tourism partnerships between landowners and private investors in Africa. His experience is informed by the focus on leveraging development and conservation impact through enterprise. He has a vision of much expanded conservation enterprise work across the Congo Basin, bringing communities in as equity partners to achieve livelihood objectives while increasing the total land area brought under sustainable management.

He came to African Wildlife Foundation in 1998 from Payne & Webber (purification) LTD, where he headed the sales and marketing team. Completing post graduate marketing and business management diplomas at The Kenya Institute of Management he was the driving force behind the company’ regional business development ventures netting over $1m in new revenue. In 1997 he worked with Elite Vacations LTD as a marketing assistant in Nairobi. From 1994 to 1995 Mr. Kanene was a research assistant at the University of Nairobi where he earned his Bachelors degree in Public Administration and Government in 1996. He has co-authored a few articles published in Kenyan journals in the field of marketing strategy and management.
