Acting Senior Coordinator for the Office of International Women's Issues

The Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs is pleased to announce that Ambassador Steven Steiner is the Acting Senior Coordinator for the Office of International Women’s Issues (G/IWI), effective April 17, 2006. G/IWI is the Department’s coordinating body for all foreign policy issues related to the political, economic, and social advancement of women in democracy, including for women in Iraq and Afghanistan.
