The Department of State works to promote and protect the human rights and fundamental freedoms of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons around the world, and the Global Equality Fund stands as a significant investment for the U.S. Government in the fight for LGBT rights around the world.
Since the establishment of the Global Equality Fund, the U.S. Department of State has created programs and initiatives aimed at advancing human rights, fostering equality, advocacy and dialogue to ensure human rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons around the world.
