Ladislas Ntaganzwa has been indicted for genocide, crimes against humanity, and other serious violations of international humanitarian law. During the Rwandan Genocide, Ntaganzwa was Bourgmestre of Nyakizu commune in Butare Prefecture. He was also chairman of the National Republican Movement for Democracy and Development (MRND) for the Nyakizu commune. Ntaganzwa is accused of being one of the main instigators of the genocide in the Butare Prefecture, helping establish, train, arm, and direct the Interahamwe group in the region. Ntaganzwa is also accused of making speeches calling for the elimination of Tutsis in the region and facilitating the killing of Tutsi refugees.
To bring Ntaganzwa to justice, the United States Government is offering a reward to individuals who furnish information leading to his arrest, transfer, or conviction.
