Ambassador William R. Brownfield, Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, hosted the first annual Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) Partnership Forum today, Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
The forum brought over 120 companies and organizations, including 48 small, minority, disadvantaged businesses, from around the country to the Department of State and provided an opportunity to learn about INL’s international criminal justice assistance and rule of law programs. INL is committed to working with diverse and innovative partners to fulfill our mission efficiently and successfully. Robust competition to find the “best-in-class” from a variety of partners is crucial to this effort.
Providing good guidance to potential partners early in our planning process allows us to learn more about potential innovations and encourages competition which will improve the efficacy and efficiency of our program outcomes, outputs, and costs.
The mission of INL is to minimize the impact of international crime and illegal drugs on the United States and its citizens through providing effective foreign assistance and through fostering global cooperation.
