His Excellency
William B. Wood
Ambassador
Embassy of The United States of America
Bogot, D.C.

Mr. Ambassador,

I refer to the request made by the Embassy of Colombia in Washington, related to the Department of State's requirements to comply with technical parameters established in the Colombian Environmental Management Plan for the Illicit Crops Aerial Eradication Program using Glyphosate in Colombia, specifically the use of an authorized mixture.

On this particular subject, may I inform you that the Illicit Crops Aerial Eradication Program being executed in the Colombian national territory by the Antinarcotics National Police is using the glyphosate and surfactant mix in compliance with the Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario (ICA) (Laboratory of the Department of Agriculture) concept adopted by the Colombian Environmental Management Plan that was established for this activity.

The above-mentioned Management Plan is being verified and followed up periodically in all its different environmental components.

Cordially,

Juan Pablo Bonilla Arboleda
Vice Minister of Environment
