The International School of Prague is an independent, coeducational day school which offers an educational program from prekindergarten through grade 12 for students of all nationalities. The School was founded in 1948. The school year comprises 3 trimesters extending from late August to mid June.

Organization: The School is governed by a 9-member Board of Directors, 2 of whom are elected by the parents of children enrolled. The School is not officially recognized by the government of the Czech Republic, nor is its program in any way regulated by the Czech Ministry of Education.

Curriculum: The curriculum is that of U.S. private, independent schools, with modifications made to meet the needs of pupils from different countries. Instruction is in English. German and French are taught as foreign languages in grades 1-5, while French, German, and Spanish are offered to students in grades 6-12. English-as-a-Second-Language is also offered. The School offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Because ISP is committed to continuous improvement, it is accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. There is no religious instruction.

Faculty: In the 2011-2012 school year, there are 108 full-time and 9 part-time faculty members.

Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year, enrollment was 786 (PK-grade 5: 359; grades 6-8: 177; and grades 9-12: 250). 

Facilities: The School is housed in a newly reconstructed, purpose-built facility on the outskirts of Prague. The campus includes a state of the art library, MacIntosh computer laboratories, science laboratories, 2 gymnasia, a theater, a cafeteria with hot lunch service, playgrounds, outside basketball and tennis courts, 2 soccer fields and an additional 400m2 of classroom space. All classrooms are wired for advanced technology and computers are available throughout the School.

Finances: In the 2011-2012 school year, the School's income derives from regular day school tuition and registration fees. Annual tuition rates are as follows: PK3: €10,820; PK4: €10,820, Kdg.-grade 5: €13,560; grades 6-8: €14,750; grades 9-10: €16,150, and grade 11-12: €16,670. There is a registration fee of €850 payable on first enrollment in the School and an annual capital assessment fee of €1,500 for PK3 and PK4 and €3,000 for Kdg.-grade 12. These fees are payable in euros (All fees are quoted in euros.)
