The Bishkek International School is an independent, coeducational day school which offers an educational program from ages 3 to 17 for students of all nationalities. The School was founded in 1994. The school year comprises 3 terms extending from September 1 to December 14, from January 8 to March 31, and from April 10 to June 15.

Organization: The School is governed by the Board of Directors of Quality Schools International, the membership of which is formed as set forth in the Bylaws of Quality Schools International. An Advisory Board, composed of 6 to 10 members who reside in Bishkek, assists the School in its operation with the approval of the Kyrgyzstan Government.

Curriculum: The School offers an outcome-based educational program with a curriculum similar to that of U.S. public and private schools. Instruction, leading to individual mastery, takes advantage of small class sizes and the diverse educational backgrounds of the students. Instruction is in English. Courses include English, mathematics, cultural studies, science, computer literacy, art, music, physical education, and Russian. An extracurricular program is also in place.

Faculty: In the 2007-2008 school year, there are 10 full-time and 3 part-time faculty members along with 6 full-time teacher assistants.

Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year, enrollment was 76 (PK: 18; Kdg: grade 5: 40; grades 6-8: 12; high school: 6).

Facilities: The School moved into a newly renovated building in 2004. The building includes a computer lab, library, music room, art room, intensive English room, video room, foreign language room, cafeteria, and sufficient classroom space for the preschool through secondary programs. There is adequate room for the continuing growth of the student population. The site also includes a covered outdoor basketball court, and a well-equipped playground area.

Finances: In the 2007-2008 school year, 98% of the School's income derives from tuition. Annual tuition rates are as follows: ages 3-4: $4,500; and ages 5-18: $14,300. The School also charges an annual capital fund fee of $1,600 per student and a registration fee of $100. These fees are payable in U.S. dollars. (All fees are quoted in U.S. dollars.)
