The QSI International School of Skopje is an independent, coeducational day school, which offers an educational program from preschool through grade 12 for students of all nationalities. The School was founded in 1996. The School comprises 3 terms extending from August 25 to December 16, from January 9 to March 30, and from April 2 to June 20.
Organization: The School is governed by the Board of Directors of Quality Schools International, the membership of which is formed as set forth in the Bylaws of Quality Schools International. An Advisory Board assists the School in its operation. The School has received the Government of Macedonia’s approval for its operation.
Curriculum: The School offers an outcome-based educational program with a curriculum similar to that of U.S. public and private schools. Instruction, leading to individual mastery, takes advantage of small class sizes and the diverse educational backgrounds of the students. Instruction is in English. Macedonian is taught as a foreign language. The School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Faculty: In school year 2011-2012, the faculty consists of 1 full-time administrator/instructor and 23 full-time instructors.
Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year, enrollment was 87 (PS - 12).
Facilities: The School rents a 1130 square meter building. Facilities include 16 classrooms, music/art rooms, a library, an office, a gymnasium, a computer laboratory, a large grass playground, a basketball court and storage space.
Finances: In the 2011-2012 school year, the School’s income derives from tuition. Annual tuition rates are as follows: PS: $5,300 (half day program); $7,000 (full day program); from Kdg. - grade 12: $16,700. The School charges an annual capital fund fee of $1,600 per student from Kdg. to grade 12 and a registration fee of $300. The school offers school bus transportation which costs $1,600 per year. They serve lunch at a cost of $4 per school day. These fees are payable in U.S. dollars.
