The QSI International School of Chisinau is an independent, coeducational day school, which offers an educational program from prekindergarten through grade 8 for students of all nationalities. The School was founded in 1996. The school year comprises 3 terms extending from late August to early June. The school is fully accredited K-9 by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Organization: The School is under the administration of Quality Schools International. An Advisory Board of 6 to 10 members living in the Chisinau area assists the School in its operation.

Curriculum: The School offers an outcomes-based education with a curriculum similar to that of U.S. public and private schools. Instruction, leading to individual mastery, takes advantage of small class sizes and the diverse educational backgrounds of the students. Instruction is in English. Russian, Spanish, German, and Romanian are offered as elective foreign language for students ages 5-13 years old.

Faculty: In the 2008-2009 school year, there are 16 full-time and part-time faculty members, including 9 U.S. citizen and 7 host country nationals.

Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year, enrollment was 38 (PK-grade 8). Of the total, 18 were U.S. citizens, 2 were host-country nationals, and 18 were third-country nationals. Of the U.S. enrollment, 12 are dependents of U.S. government direct-hire or contract employees, and 6 were dependents of other private U.S. citizens.

Facilities: The School's facilities, near downtown Chisinau, are located in a quiet residential area, 5 blocks from the U.S. Embassy. They include 12 classrooms, a library, a gymnasium area, and an outside walled courtyard.

Finances: In the 2008-2009 school year, the School’s income derives from tuition. Annual tuition rates are as follows: 3-4 year old class: $5,000; Kdg.-grade 8: $15,300. An annual capital fund fee of $1,600 per student is required. The School also charges a one-time registration fee of $100. These fees are payable in U.S. dollars. (All fees are quoted in U.S. dollars.)
