The International School of Belgrade (ISB) is an independent, coeducational day school which offers an educational program from pre-school (age 4) through grade 12 for students of all nationalities. The school year comprises 2 semesters extending from August 22 through December 16 and from January 9 through June 14.

Organization: The School is governed by members elected by ISB’s association as well as appointed members. The Board of Trustees consists of no less than seven voting members and no more than nine. Four members elected by the association. The Board of Trustees may choose to appoint up to two additional members. The Board of Trustees appoints the Director. Membership in the Association is automatically conferred on the parents or guardians of children enrolled in the School. The School is incorporated and has U.S. tax-exempt status.

Curriculum: The curriculum is similar to that of U.S. general academic, high-quality public schools. ISB is an IBO World School, authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (for Pre-K to grade 5), Middle Years Program (for grades 6-10), and the Diploma Program (for grades 11 and 12). ISB is a college preparatory school which offers a rich curriculum designed to stimulate the minds of children of all ages and also serves students with mild learning disabilities. The School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and by the Council of International Schools.

Faculty: In the 2011-2012 school year, there are 67 faculty members.

Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year, enrollment was 375 (Pre-school: 8; Kdg.-grade 5: 193 and grades 6-12: 174).

Facilities: The lower school, middle school, and high school campuses, all within close proximity of one another and consisting of remodeled villas with adjacent buildings, are located in a residential area of Belgrade. At the beginning of the 2nd semester of the 2011-2012 school year, all secondary students will be located on the secondary campus with a purpose-built Middle school and Gymnasium. Each campus has a library with a total of over 14,298 volumes, and the Secondary School offers a 1:1 laptop program. There are purpose built science laboratories at both the middle school and high school. ISB offers a hot lunch five days per week plus limited bus transportation.

Finances: In the 2011-2012 school year, about 98% of the School's income derives from tuition. Annual tuition rates are as follows: PS: $12,965; Kdg.-grade 5: $18,480; grades 6-8: $19,990, and grades 9-12: $22,285. In addition to the tuition fees, the capital fee is: €1,750. These fees are payable in U.S. dollars. (All fees are quoted in U.S. dollars.)
