This chapter is designed to make contingency plans for all matters of transportation in international schools. Students away from school are still a factor in all contingency planning. Just because the students are out of sight should not mean they are out of mind.
In most schools, the daily transportation of students each day is somewhat taken for granted. Students arrive and students depart. The in-between time should also be an important factor for schools to consider when drawing up emergency contingency plans.
The area of transportation takes in a vast array of activities for students and staff: from daily home-school-home transportation, local field trips, within-country field trips to international trips. Those to whom the school entrusts the care of its students should have guidelines to ensure proper procedures.
This chapter will focus on the following topics: • Busing and • Student trips
