New College Counselor Workshop

A two-day workshop provided by the College Board at.  For counselors new to college counseling and participating in the summer institute.  Fee supported.

 

Summer Institute for International Admissions

A four-day College Board information/training institute specifically for college guidance counselors in American/international schools.  Fee supported.  Scholarships available for A/OS assisted schools.

 

Aerospace Science Institute

 

June 14-24

 

The 25th annual teachers’ institute will be held at the Kennedy Space Center in co-operation with the University of Central Florida.  Twenty-five (25) participants by application. Tuition, room, and board are free.

 

Overseas Schools Leadership

Institute at Potomac (OSLIP)

 

June 20-23

 

Invitational Aspen-like institute to explore concepts, practices, and processes of executive leadership.  All local costs supported.

 

                  

AAIE Teacher Institute (formerly Optimal Match Network Institute)

June 20-23

 

A 3-day institute ensuring success for all students to be held at Nova Southeastern University, North Miami Beach Campus, FL.  Sponsored by AAIE and The Committee on Exceptional Children and Youth.  One hundred (100) participants by application.   Fee supported.  Scholarships available for A/OS assisted schools.

 

American Education Reaches Out: Standards Based Curriculum

(AERO: SBC)

 

June 20-25

 

Six institutes at the Potomac School (McLean, VA): Academic Leaders (for curriculum coordinators and administrators); Assessment: Using MAP and other data; and AERO: SBC Workshops on curriculum design in English, Mathematics, Science, World Languages.

 

Preference will be given to administrator/curriculum coordinator and teacher teams. Tuition, room, and board are free.

 

“Challenging Your Most Able Students”

 

June 27-30

 

A 3-day institute for heads, principals and others: Creating a plan to challenge out most able students.  Sponsored by A/OS, AAIE, and The Center for Talented Youth, Johns Hopkins University.   Fee supported.  Scholarships available for A/OS assisted schools.

 

Jefferson Overseas Technology Institute (JOSTI)

 

June 27-July2

 

The 17th annual state-of-the-art technology information/training for administrators, teachers, and techies will be held at the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.  Seventy-five (75) participants by application. Tuition, room, and board are free.

 

Directors New to A/OS Schools

 

July 6-7

 

A two-day workshop at the U.S. State Department, Office of Overseas Schools, to inform and support school heads new to A/OS Schools. Invitational with all local costs supported.
