Framaco International, Inc. - 2005

The recipient of the 11th annual Department of State Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award is Framaco International, Inc.

The State Department awarded a contract to Framaco International for the design and construction of improvements to the interim embassy facilities in Baghdad, Iraq.  The firm sucessfully accomplished the work despite the challenges of operating in a hostile environment.  The work sites came under motar attack, and some Framaco workers were kidnapped by insurgents and fortunately later released.  Despite these obstacles, the Framaco team worked aggressively around the clock, seven day a week, completing the project 10 days ahead of schedule and within budget enabling the Department to open the interim Chancery.
