John Vafiades (aka John Spyros Ponti, John Vaughn, James Kreutzer, Fred Rodriguez) is wanted for making false statements in an application for a U.S. passport. He is also wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service, Bridgeton Sheriff's Department in New Jersey, and the New Mexico State Police.
Vafiades was discovered when he applied for a passport in Kerrville, Texas in 2001. Due to multiple fraud indicators, his case was forwarded to the Houston Field Office of the Diplomatic Security Service. Investigations revealed that Vafiades is wanted by the above listed agencies for various charges including failure to appear, drug charges, fraud, and forgery. Additionally, Vafiades had prior convictions for false statements to a bank for larceny.
Recent investigations determined that Vafiades has since moved from Kerrville, TX and is now believed to live in Farmington or Placitas, New Mexico.
