Jose Roberto Sanchez-Casanova (aka Javier Baez Cotto) is wanted for making false statements in an application and use of a U.S. passport and making false claims to U.S. citizenship. Mr. Sanchez-Casanova was first discovered when he submitted an application for a U.S. passport under the name Javier Baez Cotto, using a false Puerto Rican birth certificate.
Routine record checks revealed the true identity of Sanchez-Casanova, in addition to an extensive criminal history to include: assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, false statements, fugitive from justice, and illegal possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Sanchez-Casanova has also been previously deported from the United States. His true nationality is Ecuadoran. Sanchez-Casanova was last seen in the Boston, Massachusetts metropolitan area.
