Washington, DC

IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
 October 27, 2005

On October 20, 2005, U.S. Department of State Diplomatic Security Special Agents arrested Martha Annette LeTourneau in Chatsworth, California, for alleged passport fraud.  A criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles alleges that LeTourneau obtained a U.S. passport using the identity of Catherine Ann Evans, a deceased person.  LeTourneau appeared before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Los Angeles on October 21, 2005.

LeTourneau is the ex-wife of Christopher John Clarkson, a.k.a. Stephen Willis Duffy, the Broward County, Florida, man arrested by Diplomatic Security on October 19 for passport fraud who also is alleged to have obtained a U.S. passport in the identity of a deceased person.

Criminal complaints are only charges and not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty.
