This one-day workshop is offered at the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center, Foreign Service Institute, Arlington, VA. Parents will learn how to proactively navigate the Department's overseas education support system to create the best action plan for their children with special education needs. The workshop will present a comprehensive picture of the Department's special education support system and will provide attendees and opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with presenters. All attendees will receive extensive resource materials for future reference and support. This free workshop is open to all personnel, family members and members of household from all Foreign Affairs agencies. This training is specifically designed for parents of children with special education needs who currently are or who plan to be assigned to a U.S. mission abroad.
