Transition Center courses are open to all U.S. Government employees and their Eligible Family Members (EFMs) planning an overseas tour or returning from a post overseas.

The registration deadline for all TC courses is 11:30am the day before the course begins. Courses are held at the Foreign Service Institute and fill up quickly. We encourage early enrollment.

How to Enroll

• Tuition-Based Courses
  State employees and EFMs must submit Form DS-755 through the employee's Career Development Officer, but are permitted to take these courses at no charge. FSI's Registrar must receive written notice of cancelation five (5) workdays before the course begins.
  
  Non-State employees/family members must submit Form SF-182 (with fiscal data) via their Training Officer to FSI's Office of the Registrar (Fax: 703-302-7152).
  
  If you have access to the FSI Intranet, please check the FSI course catalog for course availability.

• Non-Tuition Courses
  All employees and EFMs, regardless of Federal Agency affiliation, must register through the Transition Center's Training Division by email: FSITCTraining@state.gov.

Childcare Considerations
In consideration of others, please arrange your own childcare when you attend TC courses. Programs appropriate for children are indicated in the FSI catalog or on TC advertisements.

SOS Expanded Enrollment
The Security Overseas Seminar (SOS) and the Advanced Security Overseas Seminar (ASOS) welcome enrollees who are spouses, partners, and Members of Household.
