Experts from Department of State and private organizations present critical information concerning regulations and allowances, and personal finance. Over two days participants will hear from subject matter experts on the newest department policies related to allowances, services, and benefits. Furthermore, general aspects of retirement, estate planning, savings plans and insurance will be presented. This course is designed to meet the needs of all participants eager for up to date information, an introduction to the topics, or serve as a refresher for those who may have taken it earlier.
Participant Feedback:
"I've been in the Foreign Service for +10 years. I'm a Foreign Service Officer (FSO), who's taken the General Service Officer (GSO) course, and I found this course extremely useful. I learned something new in every session. I've been telling everyone in my office for the past two days to take this course. It should be required or strongly recommended for all Foreign Service Officers every five years as regulations change, your family situation changes, etc. Although much of this info is presented in A-100, you as an officer have no context with which to absorb it...no context yet to make sense of it. Excellent course. Fantastic presenters."
"This session was very informative and timely. With the knowledge gained, I will be able to make some key decisions about insurance that were looming ahead of our initial travel."
