This morning workshop is dedicated to better preparing family units for an upcoming international move. Children in grades 2-12 can attend this class along with their parents. Throughout the workshop, families will be asked to express their concerns and excitement around their coming move and how they plan to prepare. Specific sessions will focus on making transitions and dealing with stress.
Participant Feedback:
"This was the first time I truly understood that it is our family that will be the main constant through all of our travels, and the family crest is a worthwhile activity for us to complete, so that we think about what's important to our family and who we are."
"There was a lot of helpful information for preparing for the move. I really appreciated having further contact information in the event that pack-out is not going well. Also, the Overseas Briefing Center (OBC) info was very nice. I would like to come spend some time in the office doing more research."
"We are not alone. This change is challenging for everyone involved. It was helpful for the leader to share personal stories and pictures. It helped to see someone else dealing with the realities of the Foreign Service."
