U.S. Assistance to Mozambique

Mozambique ranks among the least developed countries in the world. The United States is the largest bilateral donor to the country, providing over $560 million in assistance annually. The U.S. delivers COVID vaccines to Mozambique.

COVID-19 Vaccine Deliveries

Since July, 2021 the United States has donated 14,292,120 safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine doses with the people of Mozambique. This includes 4,503,900 J&J doses and 9,788,220 Pfizer doses. Of the 14,292,120 vaccine doses, 93% were donated in partnership with COVAX and 7% were donated through AVAT.

The United States is committed to leading an international and coordinated effort to accelerate access to safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines to meet global needs. The United States is working with other governments and partners including COVAX, Caricom, and the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT) to protect communities from COVID-19 and apply lessons from this pandemic to enhance health security now and in the future.
