In addition to the panel sessions and site visits, the U.S. – Africa Business Conference offered interested African and American business executives the opportunity to explore new business relationships through formal and informal business meetings and discussions. The formal networking was held on Thursday, June 21 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Meeting space was available in the Tyler Davidson Room on Friday, June 22 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Participants were encouraged to informally network throughout the conference.
These networking sessions are designed to help African companies and government officials:
And to help U.S. companies:
The formal June 21 networking session was designed to connect visiting African executives with U.S. equipment and service suppliers that meet the specific needs identified by the African executives. Only U.S. firms that provide these particular products or services were invited.
For the informal networking session scheduled for Friday, June 22, Conference organizers were provided meeting space in the Tyler Davidson Room on the second level of the Westin Hotel. U.S. and African participants organized their own meetings directly with their counterparts met at the conference.
Please note that networking sessions were only open to registered Conference participants. Formal networking meetings were scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis for qualified African companies and government officials. We did our best to accommodate your networking request(s) but matchmaking sessions were not guaranteed.
If you did not registered for the Conference or would like more information about the Conference or business networking opportunities, please visit the Conference website, or send an email to USABC2012@state.gov.
