AWEP participants often form country chapters in effort to build on the existing business networks between women entrepreneurs, to provide business and leadership trainings, and to advocate for improved national and regional trade policies in Africa. AWEP chapters are established and managed by AWEP participants and alumnae and are therefore tailored specifically to their national context.
AWEP Chapters anticipated to launch in 2013
AWEP women in chapters and other participants own and manage businesses in a variety of sectors, including agriculture, agribusiness, consulting, cosmetics, fashion design, food processing, handicrafts, hospitality, management, and retail.
