| June 20, 2002 President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria paid an official visit to the United States June 20 through June 21, during which time he met with President Bush and Secretary Powell. They talked about regional issues, including the situation in Madagascar, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, and Liberia; and HIV/AIDS. President Obasanjo also attended the Leon H. Sullivan Summit Dinner at which President Bush announced that he will travel to Africa next year. |
