AP Sound Bite of Special Representative for North Korea Policy Stephen W. Bosworth's remarks on North Korea following meeting with Russia Deputy Foreign Minister.
Special Representative Bosworth: We came away from our talks in Pyongyang encouraged by the atmosphere, which was very reasonable and businesslike, exchanges of views with candor, and encouraged by the fact that the DPRK representatives reiterated their view of the importance of the six party talks and of their commitment to the joint statement of September 2005.
Special Representative Bosworth: Five countries participating in the six-party talks are already committed to negotiate toward the establishment of a peace treaty on the Korean Peninsula as part of the joint statement.
