Assistant Secretary Hill (Dec. 6):
"We have consistently maintained, and with I would say very good evidence coming from more than one source, that they made some purchases of materials and equipment entirely consistent with a gas centrifuge program. Materials including means to build gas centrifuges, patterning them after the Pakistani model that we also have information that they received." Full Text

Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Christopher Hill traveled to the region beginning November 28. He will be doing consultations in Tokyo, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; Pyongyang, North Korea before going to Beijing, China and back to Japan.
