On December 3-4, Assistant Secretary Nuland accompanied Secretary Kerry to the NATO Foreign Ministerial and related meetings in Brussels, Belgium.

She then accompanied the Secretary to Chisinau, Moldova where they met with senior Moldovan officials and discussed bilateral issues, as well as Moldova’s path toward European integration.

In Kyiv, Ukraine on December 5, Assistant Secretary Nuland and Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal participated in the Ministerial meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and met with civil society representatives from across the OSCE region. Assistant Secretary Nuland also engaged in bilateral meetings with Ukrainian officials, parliamentary leaders, and civil society.

Assistant Secretary Nuland traveled on December 6 to Tbilisi, Georgia to meet with senior government officials and opposition leaders to discuss bilateral and regional issues and Georgia’s path toward Europe. She also participated in a disability rights event.

On December 8-10, Assistant Secretary Nuland traveled to Moscow, Russia where she met with senior Russian government officials to discuss the range of bilateral relations and global issues. She also met with foreign policy experts and civil society groups.
