Thank you, Mr. Chairman. The United States is pleased that the five-sided talks have resumed, as scheduled, in Chisinau this week. We are hopeful that this current round will result in further progress toward a comprehensive settlement of the Transnistria conflict, with due respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. In closing, Mr. Chairman, the United States would also like to recall its readiness to join the European Union in applying targeted measures in support of this goal. Thank you.
