| 2004 Stakeholders Dialogue on the Transatlantic Economic Relationship
Based on the "Joint Declaration on Strengthening our Economic Partnership" issued at the 2004 U.S.-EU Summit, the U.S. Government is soliciting stakeholder input on the future direction of U.S.-EU economic and trade relations. The goal is to recommend concrete, actionable ideas for transatlantic economic integration, innovation, and job creation. The U.S. Government has formed a Task Force with representatives from the Departments of State, Commerce, Treasury, and the U.S. Trade Representative, that will guide the interagency process. The European Commission and the EU Presidency will be organizing relevant outreach activities within Europe. We are confident that the respective U.S. and EU efforts will generate meaningful options for consideration by policymakers. Key topics of discussion in this process include the following:
