Edgardo Leyva-Escandon has been a high-ranking member of the Arellano-Felix Organization (AFO) since approximately 1994. He has reportedly served the AFO as a personal assistant to AFO leaders, as a trained sniper to carry out assassinations against AFO rivals, and as one of the primary suppliers of the weapons and ammunition utilized by the AFO to carry out its illegal activities in furtherance of their criminal enterprise. Since the August 14th capture of Javier Arellano-Felix, Leyva-Escandon has disappeared and is now a fugitive from justice.
Leyva-Escandon is indicted in the Southern District of California for unlawfully possessing large quantities of ammunition.
The U.S. Department of State is offering a REWARD OF UP TO $2 MILLION for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Edgardo LEYVA-Escandon.
