Aerial Eradication of Illicit Coca in Colombia

Report on Issues Related to the Aerial Eradication of Illicit Coca in Colombia, as required by the Kenneth M. Ludden Foreign Operations, Export Financing, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2002 (P.L. 107-115) (the FY 2002 FOAA)

In accordance with the Kenneth M. Ludden Foreign Operations, Export Financing, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2002, the State Department on September 4, 2002, delivered to Congress its report on the U.S.-supported aerial eradication program in Colombia. The Act requires a determination and report by the Secretary of State that chemicals used in the aerial eradication of coca crops in Colombia do not pose unreasonable health or safety risks to humans or the environment. As mandated in the legislation, the State Department consulted with the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and their responses are included in the report.
