The Eisenhower Foundation was founded in 1945. It is a 501(c)3 public non-profit organization. The foundation's mission is to honor Dwight D. Eisenhower and to perpetuate his important legacy; to encourage and support educational activities relating to citizenship; and to support the non-federally funded operation of the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum (The Eisenhower Center). To accomplish this lofty mission, the Foundation continues to play a vital and increasingly active role in the Eisenhower Center's many programs and activities.
